It’s no secret that many women around the world have a combination or oily skin type, which means that they naturally generate a higher amount of sebum on their skin and produce that shine that is often undesirable.
Some of them would like to know a method or methods to make your skin a little duller or matte as a result of less oil being released from your pores. You should know that some factors such as stress, hormonal changes, pregnancy or oral contraceptives increase the probability of suffering from oily skin.
Still, there are four very effective tricks that you can use to reduce the level of fat on your face.
Healthy food
You are what you eat, and your skin does not escape this reality. To control your oily skin, consume whole grains, green tea, seeds, fruits and vegetables. What you should definitely avoid on your way to less glowing skin are dairy, sugar, and processed food.
Wash your face with tea tree oil
Tea tree oil is antibacterial, antifungal, and dries up excess oil production. Washing your face morning and night with a natural or organic cleanser with tea tree oil can be very effective.
You can also choose one that contains alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), such as citric acid, lactic acid, or glycolic acid. AHAs remove dead skin cells, reducing the level of oil in the pores and fighting infections.
massages
After washing your face, a facial massage will help your skin with cell regeneration and lymphatic circulation. Facial rollers are especially recommended, as they will also help reduce fine wrinkles, sebum production and skin inflammation.
Use milk of magnesia
It’s cheap, accessible, and very effective at keeping skin matte for an extended period of time. All you have to do is shake the product, put a little on cotton and apply it with light touches on the “T zone” (forehead, nose and chin). Let dry for 5 minutes and then, if that’s what you want, apply your foundation as you normally do.
Remember that we are all different and that it is important to test before applying any product to our skin for the first time. Ideally, you should find out from a skin specialist to complement your treatments with their expertise.
