4 practical tips to educate children in respect

The little ones in the house often do things that adults dislike, however, that can be improved with some practical steps that will improve everyone’s relationship, both at home and at school. These are some tips to educate children from freedom and respect.

1. Educate with actions

No matter how old your child is, it is best to show them what is right through actions, children tend to imitate their parents a lot. It is important to treat them with respect: listen very carefully when they speak to you. If they feel heard, they will understand the importance of making others feel the same.

2. Instruct good manners

From a very young age, children should be instilled with good manners, in this way they will grow with that custom. Upon reaching the stipulated intermediate age between 6 and 8 years, they will understand that saying “please” and “thank you” must be something so natural for them that they apply it commonly in their vocabulary. They should not be taught as an obligation, but as a way in which they can make the people they associate with feel good.

3. Avoid exaggeration

Many little ones want to exercise their independence, and often say nasty things to get attention. The adult and most sensible person should try to balance this situation, correcting him in a very polite way, without scolding or exaggerating.

4. Clarify the boundaries

It is very important in the education of children to establish basic rules at home and also consequences if they misbehave. This does not necessarily mean “punishing” them, but rather making them see what or who they may have harmed with their attitude.

The best thing is to teach children that as long as they treat those around them with education and respect, they will do much better.
