Reiki has a Japanese origin and is already defined in its very name; It implies the meeting between two energies: “rei”, the one that nourishes the universe and “ki”, the one that all living beings have.
Through a technique, the hands can channel that energy, activating all energy planes and thus reestablishing harmony, dismantling blockages, energizing and healing.
Reiki also uses different sacred and luminous symbols, since it was created by the Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui, who was familiar with the use of them to meditate. These act as keys, activating higher forms of energy. Each one has its own vibration, and can be used alone or in combination, applying to people, animals, plants, houses, or anything else; because everything is susceptible to energy.
Traditionally, these symbols were kept secret from the general public, but we all have the right to know what they represent, since the secrets are only to achieve control and power, and the information helps more people to be interested in delving into it. this profound work of transformation.
What are the symbols that Reiki uses?
CHO-KU-REI: empowerment (first from left to right)
It vibrates in the physical and vital plane. Activate the power of joy. Dynamizes vital energy. Stimulate, power.
For example, it can be used to attract abundance.
SEI-HE-KI: purification (second from left to right)
It vibrates emotionally and mentally. Purifies negativity. Helps protect, release, balance, unlock blockages.
For example, it can be used to protect a home.
HON-SHA-ZE-SHO-NEN: channeling (third from left to right)
It vibrates on the causal and karmic plane. Channel energy from a distance.
For example, it can be used to attract a better job.
Note*: These symbols are taught in Reiki II and the best way to learn how to use them correctly is to start with someone who can guide you deeper on your spiritual path. Here we only give some basic considerations. The initiation is central to this, as the energies of each symbol enter the aura, mind and body of the one who studies them. The link between the symbol and the Reiki energy in the attunement is what gives the symbol its power.
These symbols:
- The sounds of each symbol can be used as mantras or words of power.
- They can be mentally projected from the third eye or drawn with the hands.
- They can be sent or applied to: heal, protect, attract, increase, harmonize, etc.
Example of its use:
- By performing Reiki directly, the SEI-HE-KI can be visualized in our chest chakra. That will help us protect our aura from any negative vibrations.
- It can then be projected onto the recipient’s aura, the symbol HON-SHA-ZE-SHO-NEN, before beginning their direct physical treatment.
- Upon completion, it can be sealed from a distance with the CHO-KU-REI.
- In addition, the symbol that best corresponds to the area to be treated can be applied locally.
