The flares, the silhouettes, the light profiles, see how highlights textures, or how the light scatters all over the sensor, sometimes uncontrollably, fascinates me :-). Because when we think of backlighting we usually think of silhouettes, but there are many more possibilities.

As you have seen in the previous images, there are many ways to play with the backlighting and with very different results depending on the area where you decide expose your image and the difference in brightness between the brightest area and the darkest area.
If you decide, for example, to prioritize the brightest area of ββthe scene and expose so that the light source is correctly exposed, everything you place in front of this light source will be dark or completely black (always depending on the difference between lights and shadows). The silhouettes They are, without a doubt, a very interesting formal resource to add to some of your images.
If you decide instead that you prefer to expose so that what is in front of the light source is well exposed, you will probably have an overexposed background. The smaller the difference in light between the lightest and darkest areas, the more room you will have when testing all those backlights that are not silhouettes.
That is why sunrises and sunsets are ideal for you to practice with the backlight. The soft, lateral and warm light that it gives us allows us to play with backlit images with many more possibilities.
