The benefits of tea as a drink are already known to many, but perhaps not everyone knows that it can be used in alternative ways, even after having used the bags that contain it. Before throwing your waste in the trash, think twice! Here we bring you some innovative forms of reuse, to inspire you and encourage you to give it a different use than the traditional one:
1. Black tea can be a great tool for clean your house: Add a couple of tablespoons of tea in hot water and rub dark wood floors with this solution to make them shine. It can be a cheap and effective alternative even for polish your wooden furniture. It also serves for windows and mirrors as it is effective in removing stains. It’s best to use a clean (lint-free) cotton cloth and a spray bottle to spray it on.
2. With the used bags you can effectively remove grease stains in elements such as pots, cutlery and even silverware. You can also rub them on iron pans or pots after cooking.
3. If you have odor problems in your closet or you just want to add a rich fragrance to your home, you can strategically hide dry tea bags flavored with vanilla, mint or chai in the spaces that you most want. Other examples of how you can use them:
Mix them in the cat litter box
· Place some inside the fridge.
· Put some in the rubbish bin to prevent bad smells.
4. You can also use tea to remove ugly odors from your hands: use it, for example, after chopping onions or mincing garlic.
5. You can use this versatile tea to make irrigation water to avoid the appearance of fungi in your plants. Put the used tea bags inside a bucket of water, when the water is colored by the remains of tea, you can spray it in the garden.
6. Put tea bags inside cupboards, drawers and anywhere there are mice, ants or spiders; bugs and rodents don’t like the smell. If you want to make a more effective combination, spray the tea bags with peppermint essential oil.
7. If you want beautify your skin, green tea is used to cleanse your face. To prepare this tonic you need two tablespoons of loose green tea leaves and the juice of one lemon in a cup. Put the ingredients in boiling water, stir until cool, remove the leaves, pour the liquid into a spray bottle and keep it in the fridge. Apply to face and neck 2 times a day, you will be surprised with the results!
8. A simpler way to improve your complexion is to use cold green tea bags over the eyes for 15 minutes. Dark circles tend to be reduced and even small cuts and redness caused by shaving will calm down faster. Also you can use it on bug bites or sunburn, for its calming and decongestant effect.
9. Tea serves, curiously, to soothe toothaches. For this, you should use a tea bag that is neither too dry nor too wet and put it on the affected tooth. Make sure it is not too hot as the idea is to hold it for a long time on the area.
10. Even if you don’t want to reuse the bags like in the examples above, you can just dispose of them in your garden, since They serve as compost and enhancer of the properties of the earth. It is good for enriching the soil, because it increases nitrogen levels and fertilizes your plants. You can also place the bags at the bottom of the pots to help retain water better when irrigating.
